THREE NASCAR CANADA RACES ON THE GP3R 2026 SCHEDULE

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 | The Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R) is responding to a clear public demand: more NASCAR Canada action during the weekend. For the August 7, 8, and 9, 2026 edition, the event is adopting a brand-new format that includes two qualifying races — just like at the Daytona 500 — on Saturday, August 8. These duels will determine the starting grid for the big finale the following day.

With this new format, the GP3R will become the only NASCAR event — other than the Daytona 500 itself — to set its starting grid with two official qualifying races.

With these additions, the GP3R will present, for the first time, three NASCAR Canada races on the same weekend — a direct response to fans’ expectations.

“The fans have been telling us for a while now: they wanted more NASCAR, more action, more battles on track. We decided to go all in with two duels on Saturday, plus the big finale on Sunday. It’s exactly what the GP3R crowd wants to see.”
Dominic Fugère, General Manager of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières

Drivers from the region are enthusiastically embracing this new format:

“Three NASCAR races on the same weekend at the GP3R… that’s hard to beat. The event is already unique, but this brings it up another notch. More track time, more strategy, more battles: as a driver, you really can’t ask for more.”
Marc-Antoine Camirand, triple NASCAR Canada champion (2022, 2024, 2025) and two-time NASCAR winner at the GP3R (2023, 2024)

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, also a three-time NASCAR Canada champion (2014, 2018, 2021) and two-time NASCAR winner at the GP3R (2014, 2019), adds:

“The GP3R is home for us. With two qualifying races on Saturday leading into the big finale on Sunday, it’s going to create an absolutely crazy buzz. Fans asked for more NASCAR, and honestly, they’re going to be thrilled. For us, of course, it adds an unknown because we’ll have to make sure we preserve our cars for Sunday’s finale, but for the fans, it’s incredible.”

His brother, Jean-François Dumoulin, a two-time Daytona 24 Hours winner still chasing his first NASCAR victory at the GP3R, sees it as another opportunity to shine in front of their crowd:

“Every year, I arrive at the GP3R with a clear goal: win in NASCAR. The new format gives more chances to work on the car and fight on track. For me, it increases the possibilities of finally taking a victory, in front of our people, in Trois-Rivières!”

Three NASCAR events and seven support series:

In addition to this NASCAR triple-header, the August 7–9, 2025 weekend will feature six exciting support series:

• Return of the Mayor’s Cup featuring Ferrari Challenge, Porsche Carrera Cup, Lamborghini Trofeo cars alongside GT3, GT4 and TCR
• Super Production Challenge, once again showcasing our traditional Friday night sprint
• F1600 Canada
• Modified Legends
• Radical Cup Canada
• Vintage Québec sports car races
• And a new single-make production car series, with details to be announced soon

The Friday country tailgate is back

After a highly successful first edition, our country-themed Friday tailgate is back this year, with several new features — including some that will enhance our popular camping experience — which will be revealed later, adding even more excitement to the start of the weekend.
