TROIS-RIVIÈRES, FRIDAY, APRIL 17, 2026 — The Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières powered by Chevrolet (GP3R) is proud to announce the addition of a major partnership to its agreement with its long-time collaborator Omnifab, which becomes the title partner of the Omnifab Sprints, the two qualifying duels on Saturday, August 8 in the NASCAR Canada series that will determine the starting grid for the GP3R main event the following day.
This new format, inspired by the legendary Daytona 500, features two 15-lap qualifying duels on Saturday, August 8, used to establish the starting grid for the 45-lap grand finale the next day. GP3R thus becomes the only NASCAR event, aside from the Daytona 500, to determine its grid through preliminary races, offering fans more action and excitement throughout the weekend.
This new commitment is added to the other initiatives that Omnifab deploys in support of GP3R, such as providing ceremonial trucks designed and custom-built by the company for winners’ victory laps, as well as hosting more than one hundred guests, employees, and partners of Omnifab at GP3R.
“Motorsport is part of our culture at Omnifab,” says Yvon Morel, President and CEO of Omnifab. “Partnering with GP3R is much more than visibility: it is about supporting an iconic event and contributing to its evolution. The qualifying sprints bring an intensity and a show that immediately resonated with us. For us, it is an opportunity to push standards further and showcase our expertise in an environment that reflects who we are.”
The Omnifab Sprints will embody this intensity sought by both fans and drivers. Among them, Jean-François Dumoulin, driver for Dumoulin Compétition, who proudly carries Omnifab’s colors, is delighted with this new format:
“As a driver, I have never hidden the fact that I prefer the intensity of a race over the calculated driving of a timed qualifying session. I am therefore really happy to have an additional chance to win a NASCAR race at GP3R, my favorite event since the beginning of my career,” adds Jean-François Dumoulin, NASCAR Canada driver, Dumoulin Compétition.
According to Dominic Fugère, General Manager of GP3R, this initiative illustrates the desire to offer an ever more vibrant experience thanks to dynamic partners like the people at Omnifab:
“Our collaboration with Omnifab has always been dynamic, innovative, and above all, very enjoyable,” said Mr. Fugère. “It was only natural for us to deepen this partnership when such an innovative and exclusive opportunity as the qualifying sprints arose.”
With three NASCAR Canada races on the schedule and six support series, the 2026 edition of GP3R promises to be one of the most spectacular and content-rich in its history. Innovative formats such as the Omnifab Sprints, committed partners, and an authentic atmosphere will bring Trois-Rivières to life from August 7 to 9, 2026 for the traditional road course/NASCAR weekend, as well as on August 22 and 23 for the return of rallycross with the RallyX GP3Vert of Canada, powered entirely by renewable energy.
